Rothaarsteig

The special hiking highlight

The Rothaarsteig - also known as the "Path of the Senses" - is a 154-kilometre premium trail that runs along the ridge of the Rothaargebirge hills, linking Brilon in the north of Sauerland with Dillenburg at the foot of the Westerwald. It features unspoilt views, a varied route, its own forest furniture and safe signposting.

The 20-kilometre Rothaarsteig traverses the Lennestadt & Kirchhundem hiking region, taking you through stunning nature reserves and to informative adventure stations.

Tipp:

The enchanting landscape of the Heinsberger Heide (Haberg Nature Reserve) is an insider tip and an experience for all the senses, especially in the early hours of late summer. In the Schwarzbachtal valley, the varied meadow landscape along the structurally rich stream invites you on a journey of discovery and a refreshing break. For nature lovers of all ages, the limnological trail provides an interesting insight into life in and around the stream.

The quality hosts have adapted to the special needs of hikers and offer individual services ranging from equipment hire to hiking programmes and transfers.
